CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

The International Toy Video Camera Festival is accepting submissions for the 2009 event. The Festival event will debut at yet to be announced location and Reinhardt College. The accepted entries will also play on a loop at the Reinhardt Art Gallery for the two weeks following the opening show.

What are we looking for? We are looking for short films, music videos, or experimental art pieces created using toy cameras. In addition to toy cameras we will feature videos created on low resolution cameras such as cell phones and web cams.

What defines a toy camera? A toy video camera is any video devise that is on the low end of consumer grade camcorders. This includes, but is not limited to, video cameras made for children. The most famous example is the PXL 2000 produced by Fisher-Price in the 1980s or the more recently produced “Eyeclops” Handheld Bionic Eye. As electronics become cheaper several models of cheap video cameras are now available for both children and adults. We are accepting a broad definition of “toy” so work created with cell phones, web cameras, or even sequential still images edited together will be considered.

Submissions should be mailed to:
Jym Davis
Art Department
Reinhardt College
7300 Reinhardt College Circle

What do I mail?
Please mail a CD or DVD burned in DATA format with the original video file on the disc. Most traditional file formats are accepted (.mov or .avi, etc.). If the original video file is not available please mail whatever disc version you have available.

Also please include the following information in an E-mail or printed on paper:

NAME (first and last), ADDRESS & E-MAIL, TITLE OF WORK, TYPE OF CAMERA USED, YEAR OF PRODUCTION, CREDITS (director, editor, actors, etc.)
